I Finally Get the General Idea of What Punk Really Means
Has there ever been a time where you felt worthless, cast aside, hidden?
I remember watching A Bug's Life with my girlfriend. (She's really into Disney movies.) In this movie, a guy named Flick is an inventor who tries hard to come up with ideas that improves on the workload of his colony. Everytime he comes with a new invention, he winds up screwing up the work being done by his colony, which gained him a chacne at exile.
I will try to avoid giving away the movie, but…

RE: NO PUNK AT AFROPUNK
There are the purists who say TO HELL with new music and it's Bad Brains or death! (I mean "death" as in "kill me now", but I guess they'd say the same about DEATH, the 70s punk legends out of Detroit). Then there are those whose daily breath is to discover new music from all walks and all genres.…Added by AFROPUNK FEST '12 on September 17, 2012 at 12:00pm — 25 Comments

Help Me Understand Something
While searching to see if Kimya Dawson's work is in here, I recently came across a post that asked who is into real punk music. Then she said "there is a difference between alternative and punk". While that is true, I wound up doing two things: 1) I bemoaned the fact that the discussion board was closed, 2) I started to question what she considered actual punk. (Update: I assume that what she meant was that when Afro-Punk was made, she thought there was going to be a focus on punk rock only…
