Direct fan involvement has become a common way of producing projects for indie artists. Take singer/songwriter/AP member/fierce lady Amanda Ray. She's currently working on 'Surraeon', a sci-fi concept album based on a story she wrote, taking place in caves, and examining "our ability or inability to perceive and create a favorable future". Woo, sounds like a plan!
