Feedback Needed: AP Festival Community Area

Hey AP Fam, by now you know we have something real big in store for this year's Afro-punk Festival. Where else can you see free shows by Cee Lo Green, Janelle Monae, Fishbone, Santigold and all those other bands who will join us, uh? (+ skate, BMX, bikes, food trucks, visual arts) Didn't think so... Now we need your feedback about something: we're thinking of having a special area at the Afro-punk Festival just for you, the members of the AP online community. Is that something you would be interested in? What would you like to have in such an area? Who's comin' to the fest? Sound off in the comments below.

I think the special area at the fest for AP members should be like a meet and greet event. Maybe you can give out free AfroPunk shirts, buttons, or whatever you think is best for us members and have us participate in one of those "break the ice" games so we can get to know one another.

OHohohHOHOHohoHOHOh....

I got this other GREAT FUKIN IDEA

for all we super small bands again.... if maybe you all could make an AP mixtape from all the different artist on here and the art could be from the better pics up here with each copy being a part of an edition. Then, after the ferocious AP forum folks (catch the alliteration) get theirs we watch the crowd fight over the last limited edition copy. I would even volunteer my services to be a referee.

AP cipher sounds like a good idea....

AP cipher? AP cipher!

other than that grab bags and also I think it would be interesting for all the SUper small bands (i would put myself in that area personally) to have a location to swap music and maybe have a jam session?

AP is about 20 years too late for me. At my age, I can't stand in that hot sun all day. I will be with everybody in spirit. All great ideas Faraji Toure, Laidback Mike, Pam Newman, Lunakiss, Kodachi. Now if they put in comfy chairs and have headphones playing Cerebral Ballzy, you might see me. I'm serious about the comfy chairs:-)

I would like for you to bring AP to Texas.

I think a M&G would be cool. I really wouldn't know much what to contribute but maybe have people wear something like a name tag or something that identifies them online so people know who they're talking to and such? Like for example I would wear Kodachi/Black Witch and Lunakiss wears a tag stating "Lunakiss" so I know who I'm talking to. (Sorry, Lunakiss, you were the closest other member example I could see) That way people can really interact and such. Grabbags are pretty cool as well as well as having someone film the experience with the community.

Next step is for AP to have their on music tv channel and feature bands from this site and those fall outside mainstream music lines. We can different AP music genres and host and talk about AP culture.
