We swear, these are not photographs! They're drawings by visual artist Kelvin Okafor. It's crazy what one can do with a pencil!
The Guardian calls him a "miraculous artist". Okafor lives and grew up in a tough neighborhood in the UK - Tottenham, North London. Drawing was his escape. An exhibition of his work just opened at London’s Science Museum.

Comment by james dea on February 1, 2013 at 6:38pm what's really killing me are the wrinkles on her face, the subtle dots on her nose, the lines from the fabric on the scarf on her head. waaaaay beyond meticulous....he's got an ability to zero in, BEFORE he REALLLLLY zeroes in - feels really rare. Like, i can't even figure out the stroke or shadowing pattern...

I wonder if there's anything else that makes him feel the way he feels when he's drawing. In his artistry, he has truly been touched by the hand of God.
