AFRO-PUNK

... the other Black experience

afropunk 2013

I have to say that I'm excited about this feature of the new AfroPunk. As many of you know, I have a couple of different blogs out there, one of which is X-rated. But, I think that I'll like this one better. I can write about anything that comes to mind and I can feel better about it. I've got to say that the post I saw on here by wheredawhitewomenat that involved the fan of Insane Clown Posse deeply disturbed me. It's not that I didn't know that poor, under-educated people existed. Hell, many of them are in my family and on my street. But I guess that it's still shocking to see people living a life that was not even within my realm of sensible, and I can let A LOT of things be sensible.

I guess my issue is that I don't like seeing dead babies (it saddens and depresses me) and I especially don't like seeing children that if they hadn't died early, they would have been suffering through life anyway. It always puts me in mind of the pictures that I saw in the book "Sleeping Beauty" about 13 years ago. Here's the link to the site that sells other books like it. www.burnspress.com (Sleeping Beauty number one is out of print) I really enjoy Dr. Burns' books because they are an historical record of how people lived and died on this planet over a century ago.
Anywho, check out Dr. Burns' books and tell me what you think. Cool shit, right?
