... the other Black experience

Happy 4th, ya'll! My thoughts on independence in general

yoyoyoyers! So, another li'll blog from me. I dunno why I enjoy writing blogs on Afro Punk more than on myspace. Actually, yeah, I know why. People actually read them and leave comments, that's pretty cool. So, the 4th is this Friday. 1. I know it was actually signed the 2nd. 2. I know this had no effect on black people 3. I know there are plenty of arguments that state we are still not as free as we should be. I'm gonna talk about all this stuff right now. I, Kitana, am an Air Force baby (Fuck yeah! Don't hate!) so I have a lil bit of patriotism in me! And no, not the crazy kind, the realistic kind. In the words of Immortal Technique "I love the place I live but I hate the people in charge." So, yeah. But I love a good 4th of July. I stayed here in NYC for the 4th last year, never again. The 4th in NYC SUCKS BALLS!!! The firewroks blow, no one here knows how to have a good bbq, and there's absolutely no patriotism. lol. I'm from New England, Boston, baby! (Go Celtics! Go Pats! Go Sox! hey, even Go Bruins! Though I think hockey's boring except for the fights). And in Boston, we have the BEST fireworks! And the Air Force base I used to live on when I was a baby has killer fireworks as well. I also love the Boston Pops and its conductor, Keith Lockhart. He just kicks ass! And my dad makes the BEST bbq around! I love that! And I just love the patriotism that abounds back home. Again, its realistic for the most part. Come on, we can all bitch and moan about the U.S., but seriously, its a pretty rad place to live. Okay, when some people go, 'Yeah, well black people aren't as equal yet." All I have to say is DUH!!! lol. Its like, come on, we know what's going on, and I so agree with Bill Cosby! I've been saying this stuff for years! Just watch some old movies, listen to old records, watch tv shows, read your history! Hell read a fiction novel from as recently as the 70s and you should be motivated to actually go out there and DO something. Its one thing to bitch and moan and its another thing to take action! And that's what we as a unit should be doing. Our ancestors and past activists fought hard so we could even be where we are now, and to see the decline is quite disheartening. Don't give me the 'Its hard" bullshit. It was worse for them and they still fought. We can read and go to school and all that stuff. There was a time when knowing that the letter a was an a could get you killed, literally, and so many of us do not take opportunities that have been fought for (and no I don't just mean school). They started the fight, its time for us to pick up the damn torch already and keep it going! lol. Okay, you wanna know more? Look up those Cosby speeches that made morons angry. I'll probably make people angry with what I just said, but, I don't care. Just don't read this. People mainly get angry about things when they know its true. Okay. that's my thoughts on black independence and how to truly get there. My thoughts on being a woman are pretty simple. Being a woman blows, I think guys get it alot easier. From standing up to pee, to no periods or childbirth, to getting paid more in the workplace, to being able to be a dick with girls, being a guy is totally where its at! But since I was born with this vagina, lol, I make it work for me. And my thoughts on being an 'independent woman' are just working for myself, getting what I need by myself, and always working on myself. From going to the gym obsessively to working on my faculties, its all about bettering myself to further myself. But I'm all about old fashioned chivalry and guys paying on dates. Fuck yeah! Unless I ask you out, then I'll pay. But don't hold your breath! lol. I'm way too scared to ever approach a guy. Okay, waaayy too long here. I have more to say, but I'll break it up, and save the second half for later. Kill Bill style. Okay, lata Afro Punkers!

The pops are on the NYC Philharmonic they are classy. And boo hoo I love to stand up and pee pee. LOL. Just club one over the head and scream "snoop snew". Neandrabroad. You have to soften up and be ditzy. If you want a quick "snoop snew" just be ditzy then turn on the lady grope after you got him in yor web. You have to be the spider and they are just flies. You have to out play the foxes and get a good meal out of it for cheap, ie FREE. LOL.
