27-year-old mother and veteran nneka targets black millennial culture with eco-friendly school supplies

August 1, 2016

High-key in love with this awesome black owned school and stationary supplies store, Innovative Supplies, bringing representation to a whole new level. The small business was created by 27-year-old mother and military vet Nneka, who is preparing to attend college in the fall, as a way to promote positivity in the community and amongst black millennials looking for variety. Nneka’s products feature references to black meme culture, Afrocentric imagery, black activism and representational illustrations. In addition, Innovative Supplies uses black-owned Citizens Trust Bank on the monetary end, donates 40% of all profits from backpack sales to local charities, and uses environmentally friendly packaging. Check out some of my favorite products down below and stop by the web store, right here.
