activist naledi ramaabya raises awareness about albinism in botswana with in my skin campaign

September 6, 2016

In My Skin is a on-going campaign created by Naledi Ramaabya to raise awareness about albinism in Botswana. Through photographic representation, the campaign juxtaposes black models with albinism with with black models without—not to highlight those with albinism as an anomaly, but to play on their inherent blackness which binds them to the community. Albinism continues to be a misunderstood condition that people mistakenly relate to race, instead of skin pigmentation. Check out stills from the campaign down below.
