UPDATE: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR FEEDBACK.
WE'VE POSTED A REPLY TO MANY OF YOUR SUGGESTIONS, QUESTIONS, CONCERNS.

TO SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS. WE STILL NEED YOUR INPUT!

Hi AP Family, we've seen your message board posts and received your numerous e-mails asking if the new Ning pricing policy will have consequences on afropunk.com, if the website will be closing down, etc. We have been paying to maintain the site since the beginning, but the cost is increasing. The new monthly charge doesn't affect you but will add to our expenses. Don't worry, we will keep the site going as long as we can, but we need your help to decide what the best way to handle this is.

- Some of you have suggested on the message board to offer an optional premium subscription for a fee. Members who pay the fee would get extra features. Many of you said they would be willing to do that, and we thank you. What advantages do you suggest we include in what paying members would get? How much would you be willing to pay?

- Do you think we should sell advertising space on the site? What kind of ads would you be OK with? What would you not be OK with? You can help increase traffic to the site by inviting your friends to join (click here to invite them). If everyone on the site asked one friend to join we would have another 5500 community members which would help with traffic.

- Another way to help would be to purchase merch in the store and to tell your friends about it too.

- Should we place Donations links on the website?

Do you have any other ideas and suggestions? We would love to hear what you guys have to say about this. Thank you so much for your continued support and for being a part of this vibrant community! Looking forward to hearing from you.

YOU'RE broke, fucking perpetrator, YOUR shit, this is not a "PUNK company" we're talking about. take the punk out of your company name and stick it up your hipster star fucking ass

right, the PUNK ROCK subculture is so damn big and WOLDWIDE because we don't support it. but you can't tell non PUNKS what good the scene is, it's one of those "you had to be there" things. I'm sure THE EXPLOITED, BAD BRAINS, AGNOSTIC FRONT, and SUICIDAL TENDENCIES can support your theory that punk rock makes your bands and websites go under because PUNKS don't support good PUNK ROCK shit

of course they would Calvin, because these big old punk bands your referring to support black alternative sites all the time. That's why we have so many. Oh and by they way which big old punk bands might you be referring to.. I really think you should start one of these punk sites that would get the type of support your referring to.

if AfroPUNK was still PUNK maybe some big old PUNK bands & PUNK ROCKERS & PUNK labels would chip in to do BENEFITS

Be cool, server cost, creation and maintenance too, even if you minimize all spending, you can't ask people to work for free eternally.
I'm sure with ads from stuff like doc martin's shoes or Fender-Gibson kind of brands it won't be ugly.

I'm not sure if this got mention (prolly did) but could people sell their wares through the AfroPunk store? AP takes a cut so we can keep this site up, sellers can showcase their stuff and we at AP can have a really wide selection to choose from and buy. Hopefully that can be a positive cycle for AfroPunk and bring in some money.

Are there any grants or sponsors who can help?
This web site is just the visible sign of a big new stuff that concern records and music industries.
You surely already asked musical instruments brands and music labels.
Black organizations can help... and support from Prince Hall ...?
White rock'n roll robbers, Elvis heirs etc...they can help too.
I don't know, ask Obama... he paid for banksters. Lol
I know this is childish but I couldn't help myself, sorry...
Put some ads that's it!
But afro american brands and music stuff or ethical market produces.
You are the place for a very special marketing cible, use it, sell it at its real price.

I didn't vote. I think it's best to downsize. Subscription and donation might be helpful.
