Angelo Moore and HR have had long intertwined careers. (Intrinsically Intertwined, you might say…) The two iconic frontmen of Fishbone and Bad Brains respectively, have spent 35 years making music that defies easy categorization while simultaneously defying the gentrification of rock. Any time they team up is cause for celebration. In an experimental short from Jeff Pliskin of Raised Fist Propaganda, the two take on an army of zombies, yuppies, and the myriad ways systemic injustice can beat a person down to spread Positive Mental Attitude. The short film is a blur of ska and funk performance footage, spoken word, and surreal imagery, with Angelo pulling double duty as both Angelo Moore and his alter-ego Dr. Madd Vibes. Moore says about the project:

“During the filming process of Optimistic Yes, Jeffro the Pliskinite has an uncanny talent for catching the special moments of chaos and manipulating the elements to create the most Interesting cutting edge art visual.”

Like the best of Moore’s work often is, it’s strange, thought-provoking, and somehow uplifting. Stream it here exclusively, and stay tuned for the Powerjam at the 2016 AFROPUNK Brooklyn Festival featuring members of Fishbone and Bad Brains alongside Living Colour.
