afropunk premiere: nottingham electro-soul singer harleighblu ft. j-felix clap-back at the gossip mill in funked out single ‘tell ‘em’

May 19, 2016

Our first premiere of the day comes from Nottingham electro-soul singer Harleighblu. Her brand new single, ‘Tell ‘em’ feat. J Felix, is a defiant clap-back at judgemental pop culture media that glorifies and rewards the “bad” behavior of up-and-coming performers before using those same things to tear them down. Thanks to producer J-Felix, ‘Tell ‘Em’ is a futuristic mix of house, funk, disco, and of course soul music that boogies from start to finish. “The thing is, I always have been told that you’re “not hot unless you’re hated”, so this is my “embrace the haters” track,” Harleighblu tells AFROPUNK.

‘Tell ‘Em’ feat. J-Felix will be released on Harleighblu’s forthcoming EP ‘Futurespective Pt. 3’, out tomorrow 5/20 on Tru Thoughts.
