all hail! long-awaited grace jones documentary will debut in 2017

When it comes to cultural icons, not many can hold a candle to Grace Jones. The model, singer, actress, and all around force to be reckoned with in all things pop culture, Grace Jones has been pushing boundaries since adolescence. Now, her long-awaited documentary ‘The Musical of My Life’ is debuting this year. According to the British Council of Film, ‘The Musical of My Life’ is “a multi-narrative journey through the private and public realms of the legendary singer and performer Grace Jones. Mixing intimate personal footage with unique staged musical sequences, and reaching beyond the iconic mask to create a cinematic journey into the worlds of Ms Grace Jones.” With over a decade of production being over a decade in the making, the director Sophie Fiennes expressed, “This project with Grace has been an extraordinary journey ‘following the Yellow Brick Road’.” While we anxiously await for screenings to be announced, rock out to this Grace Jones Essentials playlist by Apple Music.
