So now that I'm in and have all the basic necessities, now to move on to fancy things.
It is mostly functional. My house isn't always level, so all the water from the shower doesn't always make it in the drain. Which is super annoying when I'm trying to get into the closet that is beside it.
I was going to rebuild the floor with plastic molds and the like, but was put on the idea of a raised floor by, yep, you guessed it, this magical boy (it is starting to feel like i'm making him up)
Through the combined effort of a mantra "reduce, reusing and recycling" and back alley strolls, I decided to used Pallet Wood. This wood is apparently great quality wood, that is just not pretty enough to be made into furniture and the like.
I then began hours and hours of internet and library time trying to figure out what to seal it with if I wanted it to be able to withstand (almost) daily showers.
Spar varnish it was. They use that shit on boats.
Let me tell you...spar varnish will get you HIGH! So high. I was dreaming about men on horses, viking ships, dolphins, lions and a goat head, high. So don't paint it and then open the windows and pull out the murphy bed and take a nap directly above it, unless you want vivid dreams and a stomach ache.
I have just purchased the nails to put it together and look forward to dry socks.
