AFROPUNK

... the other Black experience

bike show

Afro-punk has partnered with Harley-Davidson and Brooklyn Black bike scene documentarians, Denim and Chrome, to collaborate on a custom bike show featuring dozens of exotic custom bikes created by dope custom bike builders in the NYC area. The custom bike show will also serve as the backdrop for the Afro-punk / Harley-Davidson / Denim and Chrome 2012 Calendar, photographed by Darius Vick, which will feature exquisite tattooed beauties each month, for bike fans across the country.

If you want to be featured in the calendar, email us at festival2011@afropunk.com and send us your best pics!

Rock 'n' Ride on Sugar Bear!  I love how straight up he is about how prejudiced the old bike culture was and to an extent still is.  And the blissful ignorance the white dudes had to the bias that went on towards 'colored' riders, that was funny.  Nazi ads in EasyRiders mag and they wouldn't put Sugar Bear's face in but wanted to feature his bikes? C'mon man.  Respect to poineers like Bear who stuck to their guns.
