AP Quickie: You have to pay to watch Prince's New Video

On the heels of presenting an award at last night's Grammys, Prince released a new video, but you have to pay to watch it on his website prince2013.com ($1.77).
What do you guys think? Is this a business model that can work? Or are those times over? Let us know in the comments.

yea i really love prince i just think it's not okay to ask people to pay to see a music video...especially at his level of fame...and i would rather this not become a trend b/c poor folks like me ain't going to be able to keep up with anything/take an interest in anything of artistic value...it will become elitist and separatist and so no I don't agree!!

dude is pretty money-hungry, hmm? I understand he is a musical genius, whatever that neans, but paying to see a video? it is no Radiohead pay-what-you-want model.

It's not a model... It's to prove a point. He still has fans. Prince is a BLACK ROCK/FUNK/SOUL GOD, who doesn't get the credit he deserves. The same fate of many. He's the last of an era of music from the 70s/80s sound. I'm def paying.
