Battle of the Bands - Win A Spot To Perform At Afropunk Fest 2012

Here is your chance to perform at AFROPUNK FEST 2012!!!

WHAT'S AFROPUNK?

For 10 years, AFROPUNK has built a community & festival with new bands. We want to give the bands within our community an opportunity to perform at the festival. To that end we came up with the 2012 "Battle of the Bands" contest, which is an extension to the "Battle of the Bands we Fuck With" on Afropunk.com. Two bands will be given the opportunity to open the festival this year.

HOW DO I ENTER?

The AFROPUNK "Battle of the Bands" is 100% free to enter! From June 25th to July 1st, follow us on Facebook & Twitter AND open up a band profile at Afropunk.com. On July 1st enter Battle of the Bands on Facebook.

"FANS ARE THE BANDS, BANDS ARE THE FANS" – The votes from your fans will determine which bands become eligible to be part of the TOP 16 and battle it out LIVE. Entrants should use the Promotional Toolkit provided via your Afropunk.com band profile, to promote their entry all over the web and drive fans to vote. See Terms and Conditionsfor any additional applicable restrictions. No purchase necessary.

TOP 16

16 BANDS with the most votes from Battle of the Bands on Facebook will be grouped in line-ups of four. Each line up will play a show on July 23, July 24, July 25, and July 26. Your job will be to pack the house with lots of fans that will cheer loud enough for you to be the top contender! Audience applause and a panel of judges will choose the winner of the battle each night! The Finale competition, presented on August 3, will feature the four remaining bands and a special performance!

PRIZES
The top two bands crowned AFROPUNK's Most Fucked With Band of 2012 will play the 8th Annual AFROPUNK Festival August 25th-26th! 1st Place winning band also receives a prize package, including a one on one meeting with a SESAC representatives, Swag gift package, Story in the SESAC magazine, and a music video directed by filmmaker Terence Nance!!

BANDS!! Please read carefully. Terms and Conditions apply to all members of the band. For bands or band members under the age of 18, Terms and Conditions must be read and agreed to by a Parent or Legal Guardian.

PROMOTE!
Entrants should use the Promotional Toolkit provided on each Afropunk.com band profile to promote their entry all over the web and drive fans to vote.

The 16 bands with the most votes at the end of the voting period will move on to the next round of battle. So get your fans to vote, vote, vote, and promote, promote, promote! This is your chance to be a part of the AFROPUNK festival!

Those with the most votes were supposed to get a slot. But that was not the case because there were bands who didn't get many votes and STILL got to play because AP just wanted to money Our Stage was offering as sponsorship. I just see this being rigged again.
