February 14, 2017

Black love is powerful. In our everyday lives, it isn’t hidden or lacking, but the web is saturated with depictions of Black people as criminals and barbarians. In order to combat this imagery, media gurus and activists Michaela Angela Davis and Dabo Ché. The revolutionary new campaign “Black Love Power,” serves as a digital platform committed to celebrating and sharing powerful images of black people engaging in acts of love both via social media, as well as on their website. Black photographers submit their work in an effort to show a broad range of images of black people and the many ways they express affection. This platform is also inclusive all the many manifestations of love, whether it be friends, family, straight, queer, trans, or otherwise! Check out some of the photos below and tell a friend to show some #BlackLovePower in their lives and in public!
