Dr. Tamika Cross is like any other doctor. She got her degree from a reputable medical school and now practices in Houston, TX, where she’s an OB-GYN. And like any other physician, when they’re on a plane and someone needs medical attention, generally she steps up to the plate to offer her professional opinion. Unfortunately, Delta Airlines had trouble seeing the doctor past her skin tone because Dr. Cross happens to be a Black woman. Her story’s gone viral since she first posted it to social media last week and it inspired a crop of gorgeous, talented Black female doctors to show Delta Airlines #WhatADoctorLooksLike.
