BMX Street Jams at 2010 Afro-Punk Music & Art Festival in Brooklyn!

The APX "Battle For The Streets" BMX competition is back again at the 6th annual Afro-punk Music and Art Festival June 25th thru June 27th in Commodore Barry Park In Brooklyn, NY. Featuring a new and improved street course complete with stair-set, rails, grind boxes, and manual pad. June 25th is the official sign up, all skaters and riders MUST sign up in order to use the park to skate and ride for free. The skate park opens Friday, June 25 at 5.00pm to 9.00pm. Battle For The Streets - Skate Contest kicks off Saturday, June 26th at noon and ends at 5.00pm.

Saturday, June 26th will feature one of the most exciting line ups the Afro-punk Fest has seen. We are so honored after 5 years to finally have Bad Brains grace our stage.
First 200 people before noon get in every day for free.

Sunday, June 27 is when you can enter the Battle For The Streets Best Trick Street Jams or Longest 180 Contest. Cool prizes from Nike, Woodward, Skullcandy, Virgin Mobile, and ESPN will be up for grabs. The top finalists will move on to the Bunnyhop Best Trick Jam, and then to the Final Street Jam at 3pm. The overall winner from all the comps will get to chose from a weeks stay at Camp Woodward or sent in high-style on an all-expenses paid trip for 2 to hang with the pros at the 2010 X Games.

Pro Street Demos and Box Jump Best Trick comp round out the day featuring invited guests. NYC Street icons Nigel Sylvester and Edwin Delarosa, will be riding and guest judging the events. We moved locations to Commodore Barry Park in Brooklyn is right near the Manhattan Bridge. The Afro-Punk festival is the definitive destination for the global Afro-punk community and audiences yearning to experience true AP culture!
