book: black author & activist dr. tamara pizzoli combats negative imagery of blackness with spunky new illustrated book ‘tallulah the tooth fairy, ceo’

September 29, 2016

As a child, every time my tooth started to wiggle, I couldn’t wait for the tooth fairy to pay me a visit. The story of the tooth fairy was such a lovely accompaniment to the frightening prospect of losing a tooth. Dr. Tamara Pizzoli, the author of new book ‘Tallulah the Tooth Fairy CEO’ is bringing our favorite fairytale into the 21st century in a partnership with Rome-based Italian publishing house The English Schoolhouse. The book’s main character is Tallulah, the founder and CEO of Teeth Titans, Incorporated, one of the most successful teeth collecting organizations in the world. But one day, she finds herself in a dilemma when a six year old named Ballard Burchell leaves a note instead of a tooth, and the book follows her to get to the bottom of this conundrum. Dr. Pizzoli’s team offered this to say in regards to the book’s release, “With constant traumatic imagery of Black bodies being sprawled across the media recently, it is our belief that Dr. Pizzoli’s books, including ‘Tallulah the Tooth Fairy’, offer much needed, timely, and relevant image activism to counter the negativity that is all too often seen in the media.” That is more than enough reason to support this book, so please pre-order copies of ‘Tallulah the Tooth Fairy, CEO’ now!
