fashion: summer is behind, fall is here! – items to have as the seasons change

October 28, 2015

Saying goodbye to the love, energy, and vibrational sun of summer is always tough – but watching the leaves slowly change as fall approaches is always a beautiful thing to witness in New York. Check out a few items for the incoming weather as we say goodbye to summer (also at the bottom is a link to a mini list of songs to vibe to ☺)!

FLO+THEO

Nigerian born, England and Ireland raised, now Queens based sisters, Mayowa and Ebony, are founders of FLO+THEO – a skincare line that leaves your skin glowing and feeling warm and lovely.  I met the sisters (I believe) about two years ago in Harlem – they were selling at the Sugarhill Market.   I bought the lavender flower body butter – a yummy mix of oils and shea that was perfect for my skin as the weather got colder!  Their products are 100% vegan and made with love!

Yemzi

Made with Lots of Love in London, by print and fashion designer Elizabeth Akingbade, Yemzi™ began in 2013 with a small group of t-shirts printed for her graduation. As Elizabeth learned more about pattern cutting, garment construction, and varying other skills to begin a fashion label she began to construct mini collections and is now selling on Asos, in addition to other stockists. The patterns are intricate and vibrant – I am a fan of the crop and bra tops!
