feature: botswana-based glotto collaborates with photographer lorraine kinnea for drought-inspired “el niño” editorial

April 5, 2016

“El Niño” is an editorial series by creative director Mboko Basiami (of Glotto creative brand), photographer Lorraine Kinnea, model Kaone, and MUA Sadie Simanyana. With this series, Botswana-based Basiami hopes to convey the deepening anxiety and the resilience of locals affected by the drought taking place in her region. “It’s based on the current drought El Niño that my region, Southern Africa, is going through. Within this editorial we hope to convey the restless spirit and deepened anxiety of the expected rainfall.”
