FEATURE: Brooklyn-based GIRL BE HEARD amplifies young female voices through theatre and activist work. Now performing their new play ‘Embodi(ED)’

Check out Brooklyn-based GIRL BE HEARD, a female-centric non-profit theatre and activism company that encourages and supports girls to amplify their underrepresented voices to create original work that unpacks their thoughts and concerns about political issues. GIRL BE HEARD has performed at TED conferences, The White House, The United Nation, and they’ve even toured across the globe. Their newest play, ‘Embodi(ED), written and performed by the ensemble, is a piece about overcoming body image insecurities. "'Embodi(ED)' deals with the American distorted perception of body images and the multi-billion dollar industry that profits from insecurities affecting both men and women."

’Embodi(ED)’, Directed by Ashley Marinaccio and Produced by Jessica Greer Morris, will be running through to Feb. 21. To get tickets, times and location info click here. To stay up-to-date with GIRL BE HEARD news ‘like’ them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter.
