December 29, 2015

Meet Dr. Amie Breeze Harper – the Critical Race, Decolonial, & Black Feminist Theorist. Harper, who has a PhD in Social Science and an MA in Educational Technologies from Harvard University, is widely known for her work as a diversity and inclusion consultant; as well as being the founder of the Sistah Vegan Project – a blog that the acclaimed writer created after the success of her book, ‘Sistah Vegan’. Her camp say, “she writes [on the blog] candidly about her life as a vegan black woman in the United States, using her body and daily experiences to explore the issues she works on as well as those of importance to other black women and girls who follow a plant-based diet”. They add, “Sistah Vegan now also serves as a supportive connection point for people of color (and others) interested in plant-based diets, social justice, anti-racism, feminism, LGBTQ issues, holistic health and wellness, natural mothering and “green” lifestyles. Harper has developed online classes, seminars, conferences and other materials for the popular site to support the community.” Watch her speak below.
