feature: dylan golden emphasizes self-love in his track “gardens” #soundcheck

I started making a list of my favorite lines from Dylan Golden’s dope “Gardens” and then realized I’d written down the whole damn song. Over production that melds the legendary Cuban composer Isolina Carrillo’s “Dos Gardenios” with bombastic beats, Golden’s rhymes break down his journey of learning to “cherish what I’ve inherited” and be proud of who he is. “I’m so damn proud to be a young Latin male / Ima always be golden even if my records never sell.” The trumpets and guitars break in and out melding the classic and the new; a perfect accompaniment to the lyrics, as they look to define an identity through the lens of the past.
