feature: fka twigs speaks out on “relentless” racism from internet trolls

“Nothing can impale my work or make me choose not to say things a certain way or make an image the way I want,” says FKA twigs. The biracial singer-songwriter has spoken out against the racist internet trolls – mostly die-hard ‘Twilight’ fans, who have bullied her, mainly via Twitter and Instagram, since she began dating Robert Pattinson (the leading man of ‘Twilight’). She describes the anonymous commenters as “relentless”, adding: “There’s no amount of songs I can sing or dances I can dance that will prove to them I’m not a monkey.” Much of the racism has involved monkey references, with one troll tweeting a “spot the difference” game between the animal and FKA twigs.
