feature: jay stones blends new age spirituality with romance in “telepathy”

April 13, 2016

As guitars take the lead on this smooth track, eventually electric piano and drums follow up to make this track just enough to be a soul track you can vibe to. With its meeting of R&B and jazz, the track could have sufficed on instrumentals and adlibs alone. Then the smoky and soulful voice of the elusive Jay Stones chimes in. “Even if you wondered/My third eye is just for you” is as romantic as a lyric can get. Jay Stones’ strength is linking New Age/Indigo beliefs with romance, giving love songs a more spiritual kick. After this, if you aren’t waiting hand and foot to see what track he rolls out next… well, that’s all your decision at the end of the day, but I really wouldn’t recommend shunning this or his work.
