feature: keita juma knows no boundaries on ‘nights in space a short film’ #soundcheck

January 8, 2016

There are no boxes in which to put Keita Juma. His production has elements of grime, jungle, house, trillwave, and even bits of 90’s demoscene. His lowkey delivery cuts through thought-provoking lines and undeniable hooks like they’re nothing. Keita Juma made waves earlier last year with his industrial rap Chaos Theory. Nights In Space, A Short Film shows a softer side of Juma, but no less uncategorizable. The strongest cuts, “FREELY” and “GRILLS” find Keita Juma crafting laconic hooks out of unexpected pieces. Off-kilter deliveries sell lines and a sense of a densely populated world inside his head bring to life this truly unique record.
