“I trust the scars on my face and head will one day heal, but the trauma of what those officers did will stay with me forever” – those are the words of Martese Johnson, the University of Virginia student whose violent arrest by Alcoholic Beverage Control agents was caught on cellphone video last week. Johnson issued the words during a news conference through his attorney, adding “I was shocked that my face was slammed into the pavement across the road from my school”. As it stands, Johnson is charged with public intoxication and obstruction of justice (with a court date set for March 26th) and vows to fight the charges against him. Read more on the story here.
