feature: new brooklyn webseries ‘new heights’ explores gentrification

Check out new webseries ‘New Heights’. The series – now selected to screen next month at the 2015 Black Women Film Network Film Festival in Atlanta, Georgia – explores the complexities of gentrification and race through the perspective of  a young mixed race actress, Elle (pictured above), who moves to Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Actress Jenna Bosco who plays Elle (also the show’s creator) stated in a recent interview that “the series is very closely related to my experience in the world, and in Crown Heights, Brooklyn specifically. Some of the characters and plot lines are inspired by my real experiences and observations living in the neighborhood”. Check out the trailer for the series, below; and watch the episodes here.
