feature: new photography exhibition ‘shut it down!’ documents boston’s black liberation movement

April 14, 2016

‘Shut It Down!’ is a brand new photography collection which documents Boston’s black liberation movement between the fall of 2014 and winter of 2015. The exhibition will feature the work of various photographers who have captured the energy of the movement and its many manifestations throughout the city. To further the discussion, the exhibition’s partners (United South End Settlements (USES), Mission Gallery and Leonardo March) will be hosting a conversation series from April 27 through May 25, at 6:15 – 7:30 pm.

‘Shut It Down!’ will be on exhibition from April 22 to May 31 at USES’ Harriet Tubman House Gallery in Boston, with a reception on opening day at 6 pm.
