feature: #notonedime campaign reconducted this year to fight racism and police brutality #blackfriday #cybermonday

November 24, 2015

In a capitalist society, one of the most efficient ways to make your voice heard is through your buying power. The team behind last year’s #NotOneDime campaign, an economic boycott to protest the killing of unarmed Black teenager Michael Brown in Ferguson which contributed to an 11% drop in sales, has announced that this year again they are urging people not to spend money on #BlackFriday and #CyberMonday.
They write: “from November 26-30 we are encouraging everyone to *STOP ALL NON-ESSENTIAL SHOPPING* on both in stores and online. + we encourage the support of black owned businesses. A listing is available at http://www.notonedimeboycott.com/.”
