feature: nyc photographer goblin explores love in the modern age in “extrinsic love” series

April 13, 2016

NYC photographer Goblin gets symbolic about love in the modern age in new project “Extrinsic Love”. With the help of real life couple Naja and Calvin capture remote closeness in a concrete space divided by a concrete wall. Tickling the nuances of the ways in which people of the 21st century communicate in and have relationships. We have the immediacy of this incredible, world-changing technology but still so many of us are not fluent in communicating and building closeness at the most intimate levels. “The series expresses love in this generation where we lack communication and appreciation,” Goblin tells AFROPUNK, “The ones who love and support us the most are the ones we tend to overlook and take for granted. When they are gone we begin to realize that they came into our lives for a reason. She came into your life to open doors you didn’t know existed, to show you other ways of living and loving. She’s your lover, friend, and healer. How far are you willing to go to get your queen back? “
