feature: photographer jarriel jones distinctively melds sensuality and purpose for latest photo series ‘tinct’

August 23, 2016

The line between sensuality and art is merged in this new series from Dallas-based photographer Jarriel Jones. As he explores various color palettes, textures, and patterns, his series ‘Tinct’ proves the perfect combination of fashion, and ‘Textured’ sensualism. Highlighting the model Antonial Barnes‘ figure, with the utilization of subtle, earthy backdrops, and minimal background noise- the viewer is offered a clear, continuous, unbothered view of the subject. This particular series, feeds into Jone’s love for pushing the boundaries, and as his suggestively blatant images are placed into perspective, he offers a reasonable message to shape the project’s meaning; Tying it in with the auxiliary projects of the model- Barnes- who wished to celebrate the release of his latest single ‘Insecurities‘ with the greater mood of the piece. Both Jones and Barnes have worked to create a truly rounded viewing experience- and if one were to look past the immediate tone of sexuality, the experience would become much deeper- resonating with many. Check out some of my favorites from ‘Tinct’ below.
