“In my work, I investigate and question identity and history, merging both the genetic and biological with socio-historical, creating narratives that shift between micro and macro representations.” Those are the words of multimedia artist Jessica Wimbley, who continues to garner attention for her biomythographic art. Coined by the late writer and feminist Audre Lorde, biomythography means to combine elements of history, biography and myth.
