Welp, the initial reports of a Rage Against the Machine reunion were slightly misguided, but not totally off the mark. After the pretty ominous, uprising-themed ad campaign (pictured below) alluding to a comeback emerged right in the midst of the 2016 Presidential Election clusterfuck, whispers of a possible Rage Against resurgence spread across the web. So when Public Enemy’s Chuck D tweeted a clip of one of the collective’s 2010 performance in London, the correlation between the name of Rage’s newly relaunched website (prophetsofrage.com) with a warning message for visitors to “Clear the way for the prophets of rage”—a Public Enemy lyric—started to become clearer. After speculation over a potential Rage Against comeback, Billboard and other outlets are reporting that the new project is a supergroup formed by all members of Rage Against, minus vocalist Zack de la Rocha, Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Cypress Hill’s B-Real. Billboard also reports that Prophets of Rage will perform a debut set for Hollywood Palladium on June 3 at Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood, with a potential summer tour to follow. Hell. Yes. Hallelujah.
