“I have my work centered on human emotion, bringing the black person as protagonist in my photographs. I want to show the look of the black the person on the black person himself, in a more real way and not in the a white sociological perspective. I shoot black people because we are always underrepresented, whether or not we’re within the aesthetic standards imposed by society,” he says.

Se liga no novo ensaio do fotógrafo Edgar Azevedo, de Salvador – BA. Edgar, que fotografa desde os 12 anos de idade, foca seu trabalho na emoção humana e tenta mostrar quem são as pessoas negras através do olhar de um homem
negro.

“Tenho meu trabalho centrado na emoção humana, trazendo a pessoa negra como protagonista em minhas fotografias. Quero mostrar o olhar do negro sobre o próprio negro, de uma forma mais real e não de uma perspectiva sociológica branca. Eu fotografo pessoas negras por sermos sempre pouco representados, mesmo estando ou não dentro dos padrões estéticos impostos pela sociedade,” ele diz.
