feature: sly stone awarded millions in royalties

January 29, 2015

Sly Stone has been awarded $5 million in royalties by a Los Angeles Supreme Court jury. The jury found that the legendary musician had been cheated out of more than a decade’s worth of royalties by his former manager and an entertainment lawyer – Gerald Goldstein and Glenn Stone – through dodgy accounting practices. One of Stone’s lawyer, Nicholas Hornberger, told the press: “It’s a good day for Sly, it’s a good day for entertainers in general. This was an important verdict for people that are artists, entertainers, music composers, etc.” Justice served! Watch some throwback Sly Stone, below.
