feature: the “passionate, persuasive, predominant presentation” of big momma’s new video

January 19, 2015

“You in for a surprise, right?” Still serving every bit of rawness for your gratifying pleasure, Florida emcee Big Momma is back with a visual so multiplex, it takes an artist only of his liberality to orchestrate.

An allegorical representation that matches the seductive rhetoric delivered on “Dentata” precisely, the Ana Vasquez and John Ryan Manning directed visual takes the viewer on a journey through the truly mysterious and complex musings of Big Momma as he, in the simplest of terms, baits his prey for sexual sacrifice. The point-blank presentation is passionate, persuasive, predominant, and entrances the viewer from initiation to conclusion. Every guttural growl, scene snatch and lusty lyric that booms from the piece pulls you deeper and deeper into its trance, only cutting the hypnosis at minute 2:58 when the video ends and instantly snaps the viewer back to reality.

Big Momma’s latest project, The Plague, from whence came “Dentata,” has made major waves since it’s 2014 release, and was featured on Afropunk upon its release. Overall, the project solidifies Big Momma as a name to be noticed, featuring deep hip hop grooves, dope production, and an elitist appeal that places him at the front of the pack. It’s time to get hip to Big Momma.
