The contributions of the 70’s are often idolized and emulated, yet as the ‘vintage’ fads grow to a monumental height, many simply benefit from the era, lacking the proper education and point of view. In actuality, the 70’s was more than just an impressive era to borrow clothes from, it was a booming, blooming decade of music- with a nightlife that was off the chain.

In the upcoming feature, written and directed by Jonathan Ullman, the legendary nightclub Paradise Garage will be put into the spotlight once again. Saturated with the history of NYC nightlife, and responsible for many of the talked-about influences of the decade- Paradise Garage stands as the perfect homage to not only an era, but a state of mind. The excitement of the scene will be placed for all to see, as its gloried is unearthed once again to educate, inform, and excite audiences of all lengths.

Ullman is no stranger to the nature of the club- having released a short documentary about the history and influence of the scene, and its frontman, the late great DJ Larry Levan; capturing the block party in his honor, and the effect that his presence had on entire communities across NY. There’s no doubt that his feature-biopic will be just as honoring and entertaining, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store. Keep your eyes and ears open for the upcoming release, and watch Ullman’s mini-documentary below.
