feature: ‘token empire’ – a new web series about racial identity and music in new orleans

Take a look at the teaser for upcoming webseries ‘Token Empire’. The web series, created by Lizzie Ford-Madrid and Darren O’Brien, centers on a dysfunctional rock band in New Orleans; and is described by its co-creators as a funny and heartbreaking examination of  “six characters going against the grain of what’s expected from their race, gender, or class […] dealing with real issues – substance abuse, mental health, love and loss – frankly and without cliché.” The show is also a celebration of New Orleans and its music, showcasing original songs from local musicians.
