Sometimes you need a little victory lap. In honor of being named the Best Underground Label of 2015 by LA Weekly, Deathbomb Arc (known for unleashing noisy visionaries Death Grips, clipping., and Signor Benedick The Moor on the world) has released a free 9 track celebratory comp of their usual fare of uncategorizably noisy punk, hip-hop, and electronica called Best Dressed.

True Neutral Crew’s “Pop Punk” is unsurprisingly the winner here, featuring members of clipping. and the Broadway cast of Hamilton (my inner (outer) theatre nerd is basically in heaven right now). Art-noise Gang Wizard’s “dumbfound” is a nails-on-chalkboard anthem you didn’t know you needed, and William Hutson’s “Planchette” is a captivatingly excruciating noise collage for fans of musique concrete who take nails to all their CDs. “Run For” by True Neutral Crew affiliate Stupid Future benefits from Signor Benedick The Moor’s unmistakably weird vocals. The indie pop gem from Joel Jerome is almost disorienting in its straightforwardness, as is the retro-house “Emerge” by Margot Padiall. Probably the best way to hear this fantastically noisy comp is on cassette, ideally one which was attached to the brick that just flew threw your window, while you clean the shards of broken glass out of your ears. But however you choose to listen to it, it’s free on bandcamp now.
