we cry.
we birth.
we
deliberate smile.
forced on our mouths.
open history pours out …”
(c) Jessica Care Moore
Detroit-native, Jessica Care Moore is an African American poet who won acclaim as the first poet to ever win the Showtime at the Apollo competition five times in a row. Her poems address the difficulties womanhood, black womanness, and black artistry!  and a black poet in a culture that seems to support neither. We salute Jessica Care Moore as and ehr spirit of #GIRRRLRIOT for her sense of passion, boldness and artistry. Don’t mess with this firey woman, she will TELL YOU SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR LIFE! Show her that we support both with a passion!
JOIN US for an evening with Taren Guy and the rest of Brooklyn’s Riot Girls at Knitting Factory BK, this monday June 24th at Knitting Factory BK. Performances by Alice Smith and a VERY special guest. #GIRRRLRIOT
