AFRO-PUNK

... the other Black experience

Jehovah's Witness could have gotten shot today.

Some woman stopped her car next to me while I was waiting for the bus after walking Emily to work. I almost pulled my weapon and drew down on her. Foolish lady. She was quite nice, offering me some Jehovah's witness pamphlet. I politely declined and she politely accepted my refusal. Don't pull your car over next to someone if it's not on fire, it's not kosher to your health and well-being.

@BlackBetty -- you'd be the only other one not abducted or killed.

If something bad is gonna happen, it's gonna happen QUICK, have to be ready, not stupid or paranoid, but safe.

@DJMeasel maybe you're a suburbanite or haven't seen shit happen quick and bloody, don't think someone's a gun-toting crazy just b/c they have a gun and are responsible enough to be permitted to carry it.  I hope you find out what I'm talking about, so you have a frame of reference.

I guess I'm the only one that would have done the same. Or just began growling like a lunatic about how I am possessed by Satan and that if he/she decides to pray for/touch/ SAVE me they will be doing the devil's bidding by trying to stop Satan's will.

But for real, a desert eagle to da face, again, lets people know just how serious you are. ^.^

Jehovah's witnesses = Mormans, also. How are you gonna ride up on me on a bicycle in your churchwear tombout some ole bullshyt? People have been shot for less. :p

Lastly, forget about there being a woman in the car, think only of a car making a point of changing lanes and making a bee line to you with the knowledge that that happens often here where people are about to shoot someone or rob them en masse.

I should state that the volunteer work was an unarmed police assistance and community service position.  We could replace sworn officers that were sitting, waiting for tow trucks, take over traffic control duties, respond to motorists broken down in traffic, assist at emergencies, parades and events with traffic and crowd control with and w/o our assigned radio cars.  It's open to the community at large and many volunteers are over 50 and 60, but they don't tend to do much but drive around in the police cars, but whatever.

It's kosher.  I almost pulled it out.  I didn't b/c I always verify and assess the threat.  I say it's not kosher to zoom up on somebody b/c that's way too much like a drive by shooting.  Plus, here, people tend to get attacked by dipshits b/c they feel like f-ing someone up.

I'm sure she probably thought, "oh, let me offer a pamphlet to that nice young man", and immediately went to do that w/o thinking other than thinking to get over before traffic caught up to her.

I volunteered for the police department here a year ago.  I drove the police cars and used the radio.  And I've seen the REAL crime scene photos and heard the REAL stories during training from the homicide detectives that investigated the crimes.

Every night, someone is driving up and shooting at someone and a "shots fired call" goes out.  Probably they all know each other, but sometimes it's "just 'cause".

Someone or some people, black, white, yellow, what have you, come at me or mine with deadly force, I'm following my concealed permit training.

Not too mention the home invasions that happen around town.  BOTH of the neighbors have had people break into their places in the late morning or early afternoon and rob them by getting in through the front and back doors.  Someone come in here while I'm not in our room or tries to break into our room, I'm following my permit training.

It's kosher to defend yourself and others from serious bodily injury or death.  It's not kosher to "be jumpy" and over react.

The first rule of Chinese gung fu is to not get into fights.  The same thing applies to carrying: don't put yourself in a position to have to defend yourself.  Though sh*t can and does hit the fan in the safest places at the safest times.

No, not the lady, the Jehova's Witnesses scare me that much.

Seriously.  No.  Not scared of the lady of course.  All I saw was a car switch from the center lanes to the curb side lane and slow down to stop in front of me.  With the reflection off the windshield, I couldn't see anyone in the car.   When she was just getting close, I could see that there was only the driver and she didn't seem suspicious.

So no.
