kids in show business: yay or nay?

February 25, 2013

Everyone’s understandably mad about satirical paper The Onion calling child actress Quvenzhané Wallis a cunt in their (now deleted) Tweet.
Which brought us to another question: Is a small child’s place in ego-driven Hollywood (or any type of show business), trying to “make it” and entertaining people? Is this highly-competitive image driven environment a place to feel safe as a kid? Are children really happy there, or unconsciously trying to fulfill their parents’ dreams and expectations? (including those who end up “making it big” – re: Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Beyonce, etc.).
Let us know what you think in the comments. – L. C-D
