AFROPUNK

... the other Black experience

So, I heard that you want nothing more
Than to crawl in the deepest hole and die
No one to bother, no one to disappoint
No one will be subjected
To the failure that happens to be your life
You are no one to those who don't want you, right?
My question is this:
Who says you aren't that already?

Mentally, you have dug yourself Into a mighty big ditch
The deeper you dig yourself
The least likely people can find you
No one knows where you are at
No one knows how you are doing
There is just this hole

The trickiest part about this hole
Is the lower you dig yourself
The harder it is to climb out
Rather, I want you to prove to me
Your voice is loud enough
To shout that you want others to dig you out
It's a very tricky act

This is why I say to you
The next time you want to dig yourself a ditch
Remember, you are there already
And I don't want you in a deep anthole
I want to see you learn
How to dig yourself out

Don't worry.
We'll all be waiting for you.
