... the other Black experience
I came across this young Brooklyn-based band some time last year when a friend told me about their Kickstarter page, they were raising funds to start this band called the Skins. Being a fan of Kickstarter and of course DIY I was instantly interested and hoped the music would be as innovative as their approach. Half a year later I was not disappointed. The Skins, consisting of siblings Bayli, Reef, and Kaya Mckeithan, along with friends Daisy Spencer and Russell Chell, showing a maturity beyond their years, have released a 3-track EP. If you like these guys check out some of my other favorite bands EARL GREYHOUND, THE LONDON SOULS and THE MEMORIALS.
