u ask how can we define blackness. that is such a broad and mysterious question. so much has 2 be researched and taken n2 consideration. our degrees of blackness goes back 2 the ancient caste system and even 2day the ghetto and the bourgie. as a woman of color with exotic features i have always been pressed with the dilema of identity. growing up and being labeled 4 being dark while i had lighter stepsisters that seemed 2 do no wrong. its just the way it is i was told from back in the days of the house and field nigger. rarely since the black power movement do we try 2 ressurect our royal roots and embrace our full features and unique mystic. we r just as confused as any1 else as we strive 2 reclaim our natural beauty. is blackness a badge we can put on and take off in certain situations? r we truly ready 2 reveal our tru identity 2 the world. have we dealt with the psychic taruma that has us fufilling the prohpecy of willie lynch? i want 2 know 2 what it means 2b black in the 21st century. our blackness is such a mystery.
