new music: queer rapper mykki blanco drops vulnerable, trap-inspired single ‘loner’ ft. jean deaux, announces upcoming tour

Just a few weeks ahead of the release of his debut album, ‘Mykki’ (Sept. 16),queer rapper Mykki Blanco shares his first single ‘Loner’ feat. Jean Deaux and produced by Jeremiah Meece. ‘Loner’ is a hard-hitting, trap-leaning song about vulnerability, insecurity and accepting loneliness. Which, coming from most artists would sure sound depressing, but when coming from Mykki, these themes seem to ownership for themselves, even when it ain’t pretty. “Loner” is a song about misunderstanding – and more than misunderstanding it’s a song about a universal feeling of not feeling worthy enough, not feeling good enough. We as a human race go through so much and yet rarely are able to share our pain, our compromises. People only know a party persona when it comes to Mykki Blanco, with this album and with this song I want them to know who I am on the inside,” Blanco tells Stereogum.
