new music: soul singer bosco joins dj smiles davis to start the day off right with the infectuous “morning blues”

After almost 10 years behind the decks, working with artists including Missy Elliot, Janelle Monae, and Erykah Badu, DJ Smiles Davis’ solo career is finally about to take off. Her first EP, But She Did, will be released later this summer, but the former dancer’s second single from the album gives us another taste of what to expect–and we love it! In “Morning Blues,” Smiles’ joins Atlanta-based rising star Bosco, whose silky smooth melodies on top of Smiles’ dance-inducing production are the perfect cure for the titular blues.

“It was through this collaboration that a friendship blossomed between Bosco and I,” Smiles says. “Within an hour of being in the same room together we quickly found musical synergy. My background as a DJ helped me shape this project, but Bosco’s creative spirit and laid back sound not only influenced the song, but the overall feeling and direction of the EP.”
